The USS Premiere
is the first Roman Class Battle Cruiser
constructed by Starfleet. Primarily functioning as a defense and tactical vessel, the Premier makes use of many experimental combat upgrades. It houses increased
Hull, powerful weaponry, and a prototype heavy weapon known only as “The Prime Beam”, which focuses the
majority of the ship’s power into one devastating, front-facing blast of pure
energy. Use of this weapon temporarily puts all of the Premier’s power levels
at minimal, and in essence leaves the ship defenseless while it recharges, but
the pure devastation the Prime Beam can unleash can easily destroy even the hardiest
ships. It takes approximately 9 minutes for the Premier to recharge its power
supplies after one blast of The Prime Beam. Therefore, this potent weapon is
only used in dire situations, as it leaves the ship completely vulnerable to
attack during that time.
The Premier is outfitted with both Phaser Beam arrays and Phaser
Bolt launchers, which expel short blasts of Phaser energy. While the ship
is designed as a Tactical vessel, it has scientific and medical capabilities
that can handle up to moderate dilemmas of those sorts, but without the
efficiency of a more specialized vessel. Due to this, complex issues involving
scientific or medical equipment must be resolved at suitably outfitted research
stations or starbases.
Due to her main function as a Tactical vessel, the
Premier is outfitted with a complement of 2 Class F shuttlecrafts instead of the
standard 4. These shuttlecrafts are the Lexmont
(NCC-1818/1) and the Paralond
(NCC-1818/2).
The crew of the Premier has access to the standard Type I
Phaser (2d6 damage, Stun Setting -2 to break the Shaken condition. This penalty increases by an additional -1 for each raise on the damage roll), with Tactical officers having access and receiving training in the use
of the more powerful Type II Phaser Rifle (2d8 damage, no Stun setting).
